Data Deletion

Last updated: March 2026

If you have connected your Threads account to Thready via Meta login, or if you simply want all data associated with your account permanently deleted, this page explains how to request that.

What data we store

Account data
Your name, email address, and hashed password.
Threads OAuth token
An access token used to publish posts and read analytics on your behalf. Never stored in plain text.
Content sources
Blog URLs you have connected and extracted idea metadata from those pages.
Generated drafts
AI-generated post drafts you have saved or scheduled.
Analytics cache
Cached performance data retrieved from the Threads API for your posts.

Option 1 — Delete from within the app

If you have access to your Thready account, the fastest way to delete all your data is:

01

Sign in to your account

Go to thready.social and sign in.

02

Open Settings

Click your avatar or navigate to Settings in the sidebar.

03

Account tab → Delete account

Scroll to the bottom of the Account tab and click "Delete account". You will be asked to confirm.

04

Confirmation

All your data — account, sources, drafts, analytics, and Threads token — will be permanently deleted within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email.

Option 2 — Email request

If you cannot access your account, or if you connected via Meta and want to ensure all associated data is removed, send an email to:

privacy@thready.social

Subject: Data Deletion Request

Include your registered email address and/or your Threads username. We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation once deletion is complete.

What happens after deletion

  • Your account, profile, and all personal data are permanently deleted.
  • All content sources and extracted idea data are deleted.
  • All saved and scheduled post drafts are deleted.
  • Your Threads OAuth access token is revoked and deleted — we can no longer access your Threads account.
  • Analytics data cached from the Threads API is deleted.
  • We may retain anonymised, non-identifiable aggregate statistics (e.g. total number of posts generated) that cannot be linked back to you.
  • We may retain data where legally required (e.g. billing records for tax purposes).

Revoking Threads access without deleting your account

If you only want to disconnect your Threads account — without deleting your Thready account — you can do so in Settings → Threads Account → Disconnect. This immediately revokes our OAuth token.

You can also revoke access directly from your Meta account settings at any time.
